Ongoing schoolwork
We also bring our travels home by adopting an elementary school classroom - typically in rural Wisconsin - during the school year. We travel with the class mascot and sometimes also bring a Society of American Travel Writers teddy bear.
This year we are working with Kathy Sterr’s third-grade class at Theresa Learning Community, which is a part of the Lomira School District. Follow our adventures.

This travel mascot program is patterned after the Traveling Teddy Bear Program, an SATW project that began in 1994. The bear is a goodwill ambassador that bridges cultures and often travels to places his owners
can’t go.
